Communal toilets are public toilets which are in different places in a building, motor park, market or on the street and is shared by the public for use without restrictions.
When using a public toilet, it is easy to get infections from such a place.
Here are tips to remember whenever you use a public toilet.
Always make sure the place is tidy before using it
Always ensure there is water available before using the toilet
- Carry with you water to the toilet when necessary
Don’t defecate on the floor of the toilet
When using a public toilet, make sure its fit for another person to use
Use proper toilet paper when using a water cistern toilet
- Using other forms of paper or cloth in this kind of toilet can block the toilet pipe

- Standing on the toilet seat can lead to some serious injuries
For women, it is not advisable to stand directly over a pit toilet
- This is not recommended and may cause several infectious diseases
